Scientists propose model to protect Earth from solar storms
If a massive solar storm capable of wiping out power grids across the U.S. was headed toward Earth, could there be a way to stop it? A group of scientists are trying to find an answer to that question, proposing the creation of a satellite constellation called a StormWall to help shield the Earth from the impact of a solar storm. Brian Walsh, one of the co-designers of the StormWall, joined CBS News to discuss.
