7.2 and 7.5 magnitude quakes strike Venezuela causing severe damage – no victim numbers given yet
Residents of the capital Caracas were forced to evacuate their residences and seek shelter outdoors as the quakes, which struck less than 200 km from the capital, shook buildings and caused what President Rodriguez described as “severe damage”.
